New York native Lucas Koby Slavin is a clarinetist and saxophonist pushing the boundaries of the bass clarinet. Before beginning his graduate studies at ASU, Koby served as bass and contrabass clarinetist with the venerable Eastman Wind Ensemble, collaborated regularly with the OSSIA New Music Ensemble and the Empire Film and Media Ensemble, and was a founding member of the award-winning Sequoia Reed Quintet. Koby earned his bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and his PC from the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division.

Shanelle Ari is a dynamic artist whose multicultural heritage—rooted in African American and Honduran backgrounds—shapes her unique musical identity.
